What Lies Beneath || SPN .:. Evil!Dean & Castiel (AU)

STORY (AU)

Dean is resurrected by Castiel but he also brings back a part of himself that he hasn't be able to leave behind after being torture in Hell. His demonic side.

When Castiel is assigned to become Dean's guardian angel, he initially doesn't understand what's happening to the hunter. When he does though, it's too late. Dean's dark side tortures him for fun. It hates Castiel and for his human side to start getting attached to the angel.

Dean thinks that what he's seen is all a dream, but it's a little too vivid for that. So he asks Cas for confirmation. Cas answers Dean with a lie, because he can't tell Dean - mostly because he doesn't want the hunter to know and the fact that Heaven ordered him to keep his mouth shut.

Dean keeps hunting with Sam while Cas watches over them. But when night creeps, Dean's human side shuts off. Cas needs to tame him from hurting Sam or anyone else and he does this by giving himself over to Demon!Dean's torture.

Cas and Human!Dean are both attracted to one another so they can't deny each other after a while. They have smex in the impala.

However Cas is overcome by guilt for lying to Dean and he decides to confront him to tell Dean the truth.

Just then, Anna visits him to tell Cas that what he believes about God/Heaven, the orders and his sacrifice is wrong. While he knows this is all true, he can't leave. Anna attempts to make him see reason but Cas orders her to leave.

When Cas tells Dean the truth, of course he's upset. But there's no time left for explanations. Dean is assaulted by his demonic side and it manages to take control. It's jealous of his human side for taking what is his.

Cas fights him and yet even as he does this, he's starting to feel a change inside of him. Human!Dean doesn't want to live as a monster so he begs Cas to kill him.

By then, Cas realizes that he can't kill Dean. So he becomes what Dean is at night: a demon. A creature that fights for Dean and stands by him even if it means he needs to kill innocent blood for the hunter.
