Hollywood professional firefighters from Station 40, Station 105, Station 5, Station 31, Battalion 5, Battalion 74, Hazmat 31, Platform 5, and Ladder 45, all responded to the report of a fire on the third floor at 1501 South Ocean Dr.
E40 reported nothing showing on arrival, but civilians on the third-floor balcony were reporting that they had smoke and flames in the hallway. E40 went up with the high-rise kit to get the operation started.
It was discovered that there was a fie in a storage closet, that was quickly extinguished. While this was taking place E40's Driver was throwing a ground ladder, to reach an elderly female that had reported that the fire was "outside my door." The same lady was escorted out of her apartment and to the outside, without incident.
The fire was contained to the room of origin and no injuries were reported. Hollywood Professional Firefighters work and train hard, to be prepared for these events.
