White House to Ratchet Up Russia Sanctions, Bessent Says

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told reporters that the US will announce a 'pick up' in sanctions against Russia in the next day, a change from recent signals coming out of the White House after the President met with Ukraine's president Zelenskiy last week.

“We are going to either announce, after the close this afternoon or first thing tomorrow morning, a substantial pickup in Russia sanctions,” Bessent told reporters at the White House on Wednesday.
