Sampling is more fun and expressive to me when I add my own melodies and bass lines around the sample. In this tutorial I break down a beat I made with a vinyl sample in my previous video and show how I added more instrumentation since then.
I've used Maschine and Ableton Live in this tutorial but users of FL Studio, Logic, Reason, Studio One or any other DAW can follow along as there's nothing DAW-specific here.
The most important thing is to find the key of the sample and I show you how to do it by ear (that's why training your ears is essential here).
