My starting strategy for Race 2 was this: the pin end of the line was more favored, so I wanted to be closer to that end. A boat was in front of me, and I didn’t feel I could get around her, so I held my ground, luffing to slow my boat as the countdown proceeded. Then as time got closer, I accelerated along the line to gather speed before the heading up at the starting horn/whistle.
