If you take the Bible alone, and you don’t look at any interpretation or any other authority, there are definitely some odd passages that seemed to suggest doctrines that most Christians would hold heretical. For instance, first Corinthians chapter 7 tells us that a unbelieving spouse will be made holy on account of the believing spouse. What should we know here about salvation? Are there other passages that help us interpret this? Is there something in the context that gives us a clue as to what it means? Is it possible for a woman who does not have any faith to go to heaven because her husband does? There are a lot of unanswered questions here that relate to the gospel in salvation. Can sola Scriptura make up for this?
