The late Bernard Mutai was born in 1959 to the late Malagas Kimutai Arap Ngeno
and the late Esther Ngeno of Siwot Village, Bomet County. He began his primary
education in 1968 and later joined Kiptere Polytechnic in 1975, completing his
studies in 1978.
Career and Service
Bernard began his career in Kisumu, was later transferred to Homa Bay, and
thereafter transferred to Kisii, where he served from 1985 to 1992, before
eventually settling in Kericho. He faithfully served as a Signaler with the Kenya
Police Service. After many years of dedicated service, he retired in 2019 and
thereafter ventured into business.
Marriage, Family and Faith
In 1981, Bernard married Sarah Chelangat Ngerechi. He was a loving father to
Josephine, Lodwick, Ronald, Lynnet, Winnie, Brenda, Judith, and Brian. He was a
proud grandfather to Malcolm, Manuela, Kenan, Ava, Olivia, Talia, Skylar, Emmanuel,
Ethan, Darwin, Darrell, Amani, and Leo, and a cherished father-in-law to Stanley
Leleito, Faith Cheruiyot, Marcy Nyachoti, Vincent Koech, Thomas Bruch, and Dr.
Noel Ambutu.
Bernard was a devoted member of Emmanuel AGC, where he faithfully worshipped
drawing strength and guidance from his Christian faith.
Extended Family
He was a beloved brother to Simion Mutai, Stephen Mutai, Lilly Kelong, Edwin
Mutai, the late Alice, Jonathan Mutai, Samwel Mutai, Rosaline, Emily, Nancy, and
Beatrice, and a devoted son-in-law to the late John Ngerechi and the late Eunice
Ngerechi of Muyondo Village, Kipreres Location.
