Greenland has issued a blunt warning to Washington amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Arctic. Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said the autonomous territory would choose Denmark over the United States if forced to decide, calling the situation a geopolitical crisis. Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen slammed what she described as completely unacceptable pressure from the U.S., responding to President Donald Trump’s repeated remarks about acquiring Greenland “one way or the other.” The dispute has spilled into NATO, with Germany, Britain and France discussing Arctic surveillance missions. NATO chief Mark Rutte refused to take sides, stressing alliance unity and Arctic security.
