A barn dance was held on October 17, 2025 at the Bridge Grange Hall in western Oregon. The Outstanding Open Band (sponsored by South Coast Folk Society) provided the music, and they are a non-audition acoustic band open to all levels of musicians. Paul Poresky taught and called the dances. Beginners were welcome. The grange served a stuffed baked potato fundraiser supper at 5 pm. The band then started playing old-time string band music about 5:30.
At 6 pm, the dance began. The band included Sharon Rogers (accordion), Marty Giles (bodhran), Hege Bakken (fiddle), Karen Olsen (fiddle), Davy Sweetman (whistles), Tom Purvis (flute), Joe Ross (guitar, mandolin). Tunes played in this video include Upperchurch Polkas #1 and #2, Buffalo Gals / Goodbye Girls I'm Going to Boston, Deer Walk / Western Country, Orange in Bloom (waltz), Going to the Free State / Gonna Climb Them Golden Stairs, Small October Moon (waltz), Jump at the Sun / Indian Point, Ballydesmond Polkas #1 and #2, Elizabeth (waltz).
