Weight Woes, Cape York Prep & Cairns Surprise Injury | AUS LAP E41

Episode 41 picks up right where we left off - rolling out of Dingo Pocket and into some of the most beautiful northern Queensland country we’ve seen so far.

We arrive in Cairns for the next leg of our lap of Australia, but not before saying a temporary goodbye to Kate as she heads back to Perth. With just Mark and the kids solo, things stay surprisingly calm… until we discover what Kate left behind in the van 😅

We settle into a premo stay at Cairns Coconut, make the most of the epic water park, then hit up the legendary Rusty’s Markets - and you won’t believe what $15 gets you.

Next up, it’s mod time. Mark ducks into Autobarn to install the Clearview tow mirrors so many of you recommended.

Things then take a serious turn with a nasty finger injury to Izzy, before we hitch up and test the new mirrors on the way to NRMA Cairns Holiday Park.

With Cape York looming, it’s time to get under the car and van and start preparing for what’s ahead. Kate rejoins us in Cairns, along with our good mate Tim and we make the most of the region - Kuranda, Port Douglas and of course… a Max pie review 🥧

On our final day, we do something we’ve been putting off - weighing the car and van. The result? A realisation we’re right on the edge of our GCM limit.
