The Union Pacific Dallas Subdivision is a track from Dallas to Fort Worth, TX. It connects to UP's Choctaw and Duncan subdivisions at Tower 55. It becomes the Baird subdivision west of Fort Worth. Going east, it becomes the Mineola Subdivision at I believe SP Junction. The trackage was originally owned by the Texas & Pacific Railroad until 1976 when the T&P was purchased by the Missouri Pacific railroad. Then the track was owned by the Missouri Pacific. However, that wouldn't last too long. MoPac owned the tracks until late 1982 when the Union Pacific bought MoPac, and then UP became the owner of the track. Between Dallas and Fort Worth, there is a yard called Garrett Yard which is right next to General Motors (GM) plant. About a mile west of Garrett Yard, there is an old spur that was owned by the Great Southwest Railroad until 1987 when the GSWRR was bought out by UP. Most of the GSWRR trackage is still used today for some industrial switching. Union Pacific still continues to own this trackage up to today and for many years to come.
This video has many of my unused footage from 2020 and 2021, which include UP 1989, 1996, NS 8114, an OCS, and more. Please note that almost all of this was shot in different days.
Thanks for watching!
