Avathar - Palantír

Palantíri, the Seeing-stones, created by the Noldor in Eldamar before the ages of the world began. Spherical and Dark in nature, used to communicate and see between vast distances. After the fall of Númenor during the late Second Age, seven of these stones were rescued and brought to Middle-earth. The palantiri could only be used by the strong-willed, specially suited for the heirs of Elendil. To others the stones were dangerous and could be used to take control of others visions and twist them as Sauron did with Denethor II. After the War of the Ring only the Orthanc-stone was usable, Anor-stone showing all but those who possess the strongest of wills the burning hands of Denethor II. The Ithil-Stone is believed to be destroyed during the destruction of Barad-dûr, while the other four were lost in time.
