Great track from the Mark 1 lineup. Fantastic organ work from Lord, awesome guitar from Blackmore.

another song from early deep purple. the band first started out in the era of progressive and psychedelic rock. this is from their third album. fault line uses a double track. I believe it is played backwards. definitely overtones of psychedelic rock. the painter was recorded live in the studio. no extra tracks. once again, an example of the genius of deep purple. members at the time: rod evans---vocals jon lord----keyboards nick simper---bass ian paice----drums ritchie blackmore----guitar
