Cut those strips in half to get 96, and then half again, and voilà, you now have 192 strips. Each strip is a new chance to practice, and by the end of it, you'll be sewing straight stitches like a pro. With roughly 980 stitches, you have 980 opportunities to master the gradual taper and perfect your technique without the pressure—mess up here, and it really doesn't matter.

Once we've got our stitches down, it's time to tackle a project that will change the game for your wardrobe: taking in the side seams of your T-shirts. This is a simple modification that brings dramatic results. Ever bought a T-shirt labeled 'slim fit' only to find it fits like a tent? Frustrating, right? Well, tailoring your own T-shirts can end that frustration. Tailoring not only makes you look sharp and professional, but it also brings that polished, confident vibe to even the most casual pieces, like tees.

A quick tip on stitch removal: if you're worried about leaving holes in the fabric, most of the time, they aren’t permanent. A little rub or a quick iron over can make them disappear, or just toss the garment in the wash.
