GRAND OPENING! Akiba House Chinatown (Manhattan NYC), September 2025 arcade tour, new 4K walkthrough

Manhattan is hurting for rhythm games. I can count on one hand the total amount of places I know of that have them; Dave & Buster's in Times Square, the new Barcade in the Financial District, Space Ping Pong in K-Town, and of course Chinatown Fair. Well, we've got four fingers already, and here's the thumb with this week's grand opening of Akiba House. If the name sounds familiar, you may have heard of their chain of anime inspired merch shops throughout NY and NJ, typically located inside of malls. This new one which just opened in Chinatown on Bowery is their first standalone location, their biggest one yet, and most importantly -- the first one which has arcade games. And of course, as expected, there's some claw machines and Skill Fall Revolution/Poke A Prize games, but the bigger deal is their lineup of Japanese rhythm games. Between Maimai, Chunithm, and Wacca (each with a pair of cabinets) they're clearly aiming to become the area's go-to spot to get some rhythm game action in!
