Oregon State is the land of volcanoes with a staggering number of 61 volcanoes in one state. South Sister at 10363 ft is the 3rd highest point in Oregon after Mt. Hood (11250 ft) and Mt. Jefferson (10500 ft). South Sister is an amazing climb. Incredibly beautiful volcano. Lovely crater that reminded me of Mt. Rainier. Not a difficult climb. We did it from the trailhead to the true summit in 4 hrs and 30 mins. The views are spectacular. 100% recommend this hike/climb.
