A perfect weekend escape to nature!
We went on a beautiful drive towards Jummapatti Waterfall, near Matheran — a hidden gem surrounded by lush green forests. The journey started with scenic roads, a peaceful tea break, and a short jungle trek that turned into a real adventure for the kids.

It was our kids’ first-ever waterfall experience, and their excitement made the day even more special. We crossed mini streams, walked along the Matheran mini railway track, and finally reached a stunning natural swimming pool under the waterfall.

The sound of water, the fresh mountain air, and the laughter of kids — everything felt magical. A simple yet unforgettable day in nature’s lap.

How To Reach

By Car:

The nearest town is Neral, around 8 km from Matheran.

From Neral, drive towards Jummapatti village — the road is scenic but narrow in some parts.

You can park your car near the Jummapatti mini train station.

From there, it’s about a 10–15 minute jungle trek to reach the waterfall.

By Train:

Take a local train to Neral station (on the Mumbai–Karjat route).

From Neral, hire a taxi, auto, or local jeep to reach Jummapatti (around 15–20 minutes).

You can also experience the toy train ride from Neral to Jummapatti (when it’s running during the season).

Matheran Hill Station – 5 km (via toy train route)
