The Banking and Finance Sector is one of the most important sectors in the UAE as demonstrated by its role as a major financial hub for the Middle East and beyond. The regulatory framework for banking in the UAE is based on the Banking Law where the Central Bank is entrusted with the issuance and management of the country's currency, and the regulation of the banking and financial sectors. UAE banks – both domestic and foreign – are the backbone of the financial industry, providing retail and corporate services to members of the private and public sectors. In addition, Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) offer different solutions for international financial institutions, asset management companies and other financial cum investment entities.
For a comprehensive presentation of the banking and finance sector of the UAE, the UAESBC is pleased to have presented a webinar on “UAE Banking & Finance” on Tuesday, 5th July 2022. This event provided a practical understanding of the UAE banking and finance sector, the key regulations and agencies within this sector, as well as a glimpse into the spectrum of financial activities carried out in the country from actual practitioners and experts in the sector.
