Welcome back to The Ecclestone Grand Prix Collection!
In this episode, we explore a deeply personal and iconic part of Bernie Ecclestone's racing legacy: the Brabhams. These extraordinary machines have been kept under Bernie’s care since their final races, making this walkaround a truly unique and special opportunity to see them up close.
At the heart of the collection is the legendary BT46B ‘fan car,’ the groundbreaking Gordan Murray design that Niki Lauda drove to a commanding victory in the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix before it was famously withdrawn by Bernie Ecclestone after just one race. Also featured are the BT44B and BT45C, two of Brabham's most innovative and visually stunning designs.
The collection also includes the Brabham BT49C, the car that secured Nelson Piquet’s first Formula One Drivers’ Championship at the 1981 Caesars Palace Grand Prix, and the Brabham BT52B, the very chassis in which Piquet clinched his second Formula 1 World Championship in 1983. Alongside these are other Grand Prix winning cars and those that played pivotal roles in the history of Formula 1.
With Bernie sharing personal insights and untold stories about these remarkable machines, this video is a must-watch for Formula 1 fans, Brabham enthusiasts, and anyone fascinated by the sport's rich history.
Enjoy!
