This video discusses turbofan engines. Turbofan engines are jet engines with a cold bypass flow. In these engines, the majority of the thrust is provided by the use of cold flow. Using this technique, significant thrust is generated without increasing the size of the engine too much, because by generating cold thrust, the various parts of the engine, such as the compressor, combustion chamber, and turbine, remain small. By reducing the average speed of the exhaust jet, the propulsion (propulsive) efficiency of these engines increases compared to turbojet engines; also, due to the use of a cold jet, the average exhaust temperature decreases, and the noise produced is reduced. @DrTogh
