Sandberg VM4 vs Fender Deluxe vs Fender Road Worn Bass

Another round of bass comparisons. I've been trying to find an "all-in-one" type of bass to replace my Fender Road Worn P Bass. There were some hard rock/metal songs I've been working on that really lends itself to an active preamp, Stingray-esque sound and I was originally going to just buy a Stingray, but I know that after the project is finished, that bass is going to sit in its case for however long, so I pivoted and went the route of finding a bass that can do it all. I really love my Precision pickup on the Road Worn and how it growls but I need that stinging MusicMan humbucker-type sound as well and the J Pickup wasn't cutting it.

I bought the Fender American Deluxe P Bass first and really dug it, but since I cannot switch to passive mode, I can never really dial out that active preamp sound. The Sandberg is a 2010 model that I bought from ‪@1484tv‬ Ishibashi Music, and it has both a P and MM setup with an active/passive switch. So far it sounds very good, but each bass has its own quality that's making it hard to choose. This is my way of making a relatively comprehensive comparison list for myself and others.
