Particles Collide is a more experimental and unpredictable album from In The Branches, like Vivid Memories was. While the more traditional space-guitar sounds and themes of Expanse Sessions and Expanse Sessions II remain present, Particles Collide paints a wider variety of pictures from start to finish, telling a story of personal memories and imagined realities from a very intense and fulfilling era of traveling and learning about the world.
Particles Collide was originally released on Bandcamp in 2016, then reissued for streaming platforms in 2019 with new cover artwork. Here it is in its complete form, an hour-long psychedelic adventure with relaxing and nostalgic melodies that are made to drift in and out of the listener's consciousness, painting pictures of memories along the way.
