En "Chandelier" Sia se refleja a sí misma y su oscuro pasado, narrando la vida de una "chica fiestera" que evade sus problemas de depresión mediante el alcoholismo y el consumo de drogas; en la canción Sia dice subir al techo a balancearse sobre un candelabro llamando la atención de todos, metafóricamente comparando esto con que Sia estaba pidiendo ayuda sujetándose fuerte de ese candelabro para salvarse, ya que si alguien no la ayudaba probablemente no pasaría la noche y terminaría con su vida.
