AU VIEUX PARIS - A Charming French Restaurant near Notre Dame

Au Vieux Paris has been one of our favorite Parisian restaurants since we moved here. It's pretty much in the shadows of Notre Dame, and the priest used to live here. It's considered to be one of the oldest restaurants in Paris. The ambiance is always elegant and charming. We are quite fond of Freddy. He's the manager that holds it all together - you'll find him waiting tables and seamlessly speaking 7 different languages to banter with his guests. He's always made the experience fun, and we've celebrated many a prefecture success with a glass of wine at Au Vieux Paris. Tonight we will celebrate part of my 40th birthday there with friends!

I would consider the food at Au Vieux Paris, French traditional. It always seems very comforting in nature, maybe it's the cozy environment that plays into it too.

In the spring the facade of the restaurant is covered in Wysteria - it's absolutely breathtaking. In the winter they decorate as well. It's always a very instagram worthy location.
