Fix intonation using open strings as guidelines. Open strings work best because they correspond perfectly when tuned to your own instrument. Practice scales, patterns and exercises with the open strings above and below your fingered string to pinpoint exact intonation. Practice slowly lifting your fingers every time and playing over and over until the note is as perfect as you can get it. When you find the perfect note reinforce it by repeating it as much as you have the patience to. Put down you hand and bring it back up from time to time to learn to find the correct position from scratch. Practice as many different finger combinations as you can and work with all tempos.
