A typical excellent quality Japanese made (specifically in Saitama Ward of Tokyo) R57 envelope self ballasted mercury lamp. Being for 230V to 250V use, it employs a standard probe start mercury discharge tube instead of the special filament heated tubes employed in 100V to 130V self ballasted mercury lamps.
