Day 18 of my Great Himalayan Journey took me from Chaurikot toward Balangra Peak. This day was full of surprises meeting adventurous souls, kindhearted army people, and the warm brothers and sisters of the village.
The journey didn’t go as planned, but that’s the real beauty of it nothing is ever certain, and often the unexpected moments turn out to be the most meaningful. Due to safety concerns, I had to change my route, and instead of my original destination, I ended up staying at the stunning Balangra Peak. It took extra one day but its okay to loose one day than losing yourself. From there, I witnessed breathtaking hills, peaceful animals, and a serenity that felt like a gift from the mountains.
This day reminded me that sometimes, detours are the real destinations.
