Mass Effect and the Final Frontier

Mass Effect is one of the most memorable and unique trilogies in video games - specifically for letting players shape the outcome of a galactic war effort against existential annihilation, transferring individual choices across entries and influencing both characters and the plot, all within one console generation. Mass Effect is so much it's impossible to meaningfully pin all of it down, but what it's trying to say is fundamentally player-reflexive. Let's take a look back, from Mass Effect to Andromeda.
