Hi there friend! "What is this all about?" you may ask. Well I stumbeled upon this musical in japanese, and quickly found myself in a deep rabbithole trying to understand and learn the songs. But since I do not know either japanese or german (or any of the other languages you can find this musical in) I decided to translate my favourites for myself. I tried to stay as faithfull to the original austrian version, but through the lens of the Takarazuka revue and my Norwegian understanding of english. I know, it's a mess :P I'll make a video about my intentions for the translations, what my thoughts are, why I love the musical and so forth at some point. No pressure ;) And In the meantime if you have any question or thoughts, don't be shy and comment down below. So yeah, please enjoy this fan translation of Elisabeth the musical as I interpit it.

Lyrics:
Lucheni: Augustinian Church, half past six at night.
Strange time for a wedding ceremony if you ask me, but very appropriate on this 24th of April 1854
Very appropriate indeed, Che miseria! Per una tragedia!
Death: This is where it all began, the downfall of the Habsburg clan.
Crowd: A mighty house it was it's true, for centuries they laid the rule
Death: Franz Joseph took her by his side and swore to marry his young bride
Crowd: He fell in love can he be blamed her beauty was unparalleled
Death: The service drafted in excess was sure to be a huge success
Crowd: But through the pomp and circumstance a taint was starting to advance
Death: Inch by inch I'll map it out, from where her legend came about
Crowd: How that she was lead askew with her compulsion towards you
Death: A scent of rot hangs in the air, the curtain call is closing near
Crowd: Would they have chosen to go back if they knew who she would attract
Death: In just a minute we will see the unfolding of catastrophe
Crowd: In mystery she is enshroud the mythos of the mortal called Elisabeth!
Everyone: Elisabeth!
Rauscher: If this is thy will, then answer resoundingly with "I do"!
Elisabeth: I do!
