The Basilica Cathedral of Maria Santissima Assunta, often referred to as the "Queen of Apulian Cathedrals," is dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Pilgrim. It was built in Trani at the end of the 11th century under the initiative of the Norman Count Goffredo di Conversano.

One notable feature of the Cathedral of Trani is its prominent transept, which towers above the naves. The Cathedral boasts a unique multi-level structure that includes an upper basilica, a crypt, and a hypogeum. Its location allows for a full view of the outside facades from all sides.
Trani Cathedral is an undisputed masterpiece of Romanesque architecture, recognised as a "cultural tourism destination" and declared a "monument promoting a culture of peace" by UNESCO.
Its enduring presence, despite centuries of natural wear and tear and human intervention, testifies to its founding quality and its profound resonance in the cultural landscape of Puglia.
Musical Arrangement from: Tommaso Albinoni, “Concerto in B-flat major”, Allegro-Moderato
