Edelrid releases a new rope with technology that incorporates aramid (aka Kevlar) fibers into the sheath, dramatically increasing the cut resistance, and therefore the safety, of the rope. From the internal testing Edelrid has conducted, they claim the Swift Protect Pro Dry has an equivalent cut resistance as a standard 10mm rope, while still only weighing 53 grams per meter. The Edelrid Swift Protect Pro Dry 8.9 is triple certified as a single, half, and twin rope and passes the UIAA Dry standard. And all this while still being Bluesign certified for environmental responsibility. The Swift Protect Pro Dry 8.9 is scheduled to be available Spring 2020.
