*NEW* Arrtx Alp Skin tone and Grey Tone Marker Set Review

Today we will look at the new Arrtx Alp Skin tone and Grey Tone Marker Sets.

I reviewed the original Arrtix Alp 80 set of assorted markers here:    • New Arrtx Alp Alcohol Marker Review PLUS L...   *There is a coloring demo here with lots of blending options in that video if you want to see these markers in action.

The marker body, nibs, and packaging are the same style as the original 80 set with the grey and skin tone marker boxes being smaller to hold the smaller sets. The markers feature a hart fine bullet tip and a broad chisel tip. You can replace the chisel nib for an Art-n-Fly brush nib if you prefer.
Art-n-Fly Brush nib: https://www.artnfly.com/products/repl... (A pack of 3 is $4.97) These are the foam-rubber nibs like Copic but they have a longer spigot like the Arrtx Alp chisel end has so they are a better fit and cheaper than copic.

The skin tone set has 2 colorless blenders. I recommend using one for blending out colored pencils if you like to use pencil over your marker art as I do and keep the other for just markers. The grey set has one blender.

Pros of the grey set:
*With 10 shade of warm and cool grays, this is a very comprehensive set. *Great color selection and all are unique shades.
*The box keeps them in order so you can easily find what you need.
*An essential selection to any marker collection.
*The set uses customary color numbers so you could easily purchase refills from another brand if they ran dry or make your own by purchasing the darkest value gray and diluting with blending solution. *note, these are meant to be disposable but you could definitely refill them and replace nibs from other brands with no issue.

Cons:
None

Pros of skintone set:
*Lots of light tones and cool undertones which are lacking from many sets.
*Box keeps markers organized and in order
*Color chips are a pretty good match but I still recommend making a swatch
*Color names match Copic colors so you can easily purchase refills from Copic to refill your markers. Be sure to keep the included paper swatch as the markers only have Arrtx Alp proprietary numbers on them. You need the color names to find refills
*Best for white or Asian skin tones

Cons of skintone set:
*Lack of darks with warm undertones for coloring black and brown skin tones. *I recommend the Ohuhu brush marker skin tone set https://amzn.to/2XAXX9t or the Arteza portrait set https://shrsl.com/2aybu for these richer earth tones
*2 of the markers are colorless blenders rather than colors, that may be a con to some as really you only get 34 colors.

Bottom line:
The grey tones are awesome, the numbering system makes sense and you get all you would ever need. No guesswork. I really like the skin tone set as I tend to color lighter skin tones and cute animals with pale faces but I will reach for other markers when coloring darker skin tones.
