The Stockade - Reverse Half Nelson Control For Submissions & Strikes

The Stockade is a submission grappling position also known as a reverse half nelson, the rack, stocks or pirates crucifix. It is more associated with catch wrestling but has been used for ground striking in MMA.

Once the stockade is secured you have access to attack neck cranks, armbars, double wrist locks and triangle chokes.

After I released the video I found another time when the stockade was used in MMA. It was at Pancrase Truth 10 in the match between Ryushi Yanagisawa and Jack McLaughlin. In the fight, Ryushi moves to the stockade and gets the victory with the neck crank. The submission is incorrectly labelled as a twister in Sherdog.
