CHICKEN HAMONADO | How to cook Chicken Hamonado | Filipino Style Chicken Hamonado | Pinoy Simple Cooking
Sharing another easy way to cook CHICKEN HAMONADO / Filipino Style Chicken Hamonado. Chicken Hamonado is a Filipino dish with chicken slow cooked in pineapple juice, soy sauce and brown sugar. It is so simple and easy to make and so good you will definitely ask for more. Easy recipe to satisfy your cravings! Happy Pinoy Simple Cooking!
Here is how to cook CHICKEN HAMONADO :
PORK HAMONADO ROLL RECIPE :
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb chicken thighs
For marinade:
2 cups pineapplejuice
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 tsp pepper
For the sauce:
1 large onion, chopped
7 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 cup pineapple chunks
5 dried bay leaves
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp pepper
chopped parsley for garnishing
Directions:
1. Combine chicken, pineapple juice, soy sauce and pepper in a bowl. Marinate in the fridge for an hour or overnight.
2. Remove the chicken from the marinade. Reserve the marinade.
3. In a large pan, heat oil over medium high heat. Sear the chicken both sides until browned.
4. Remove the chicken. Slight scrape the pan, discard fats rendered leaving 2 tbsp oil. Add onion and garlic, Cook until fragrant.
5. Add the reserved marinade, bring to a boil for 5 mins.
6. Add beef broth, bay leaves, brown sugar and pepper. Stir until sugar dissolves.
7. Add back the chicken.
8. Cover with lid and let it simmer for over medium heat for 30 to 45 mins or until chicken is fork tender. Stir occasionally to keep it from burning.
9. Remove chicken from the pan.
10. Continue to simmer uncovered until sauce is reduced and thickens until your desired consistency.
11. Add pineapple chunks and chicken.
12. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
13. Let it simmer for 3 mins.
