Buffalo have lived in North America for thousands of years. Their population at one point reached roughly 60 million. Yet over the course of a few decades during the 19th century, they were hunted nearly to extinction. This is the story of a species that humans have failed miserably. But for those of us who have come to know them, they are endearing, and deserving of our greatest respect. In the face of humanity's persistent failings, the people of Buffalo Field Campaign fight for a better future for these beings. This film is America's buffalo story, as narrated by Peter Coyote.
