• A YouTube channel called Trustified conducted a test and found that Amul Masti Dahi pouches contained higher levels of toxic variants than stated on the label (0:54-1:17).
• The fat content was 3.51 grams (1:43) while the label stated 3.1 grams (1:48)
• The pouch packaging was deemed less hygienic than cup variants, containing Coliform bacteria (1:56-2:06) which can cause severe illness, including liver problems and diarrhea (3:35-3:44). This bacteria is commonly found in sewage (3:22-3:25).
• The report claimed that Coliform bacteria were 2100 times higher than the prescribed limit (2:52-2:56), and yeast and mold were 60 times higher (3:00-3:07).
• Food Department officials in Bulandshahr confirmed that out of 35 samples of Amul curd, 18 failed (5:35-5:48) the lab tests.
Amul, in its defense, stated that the allegations are baseless (8:37-8:40) and that Trustified's report is "completely false" (8:43-8:45). They claim their manufacturing process adheres to all quality standards (8:52-8:59) and that such videos are designed to spread misinformation and fear (9:02-9:12). Amul also mentioned that they re-checked samples of Amul Masti Dahi after the report and found them to be in full compliance with FSSAI and internal quality standards (10:33-10:49). They also stated that their product is manufactured in ISO-certified dairies using state-of-the-art facilities and undergoes more than 50 stringent quality tests (10:54-11:15).
The video concludes by raising concerns about the safety of packaged curd and advises consumers to consider making curd at home (13:15-13:20) instead of buying it from outside, especially given its importance in daily diet for many (12:16-12:26).
