During a heavy rainstorm, an elephant slipped and fell into a deep mud pit, its entire body submerged in thick mud. Each time it tried to stand, the earth would collapse, pulling it deeper – if left until nightfall, it could become exhausted and unable to escape.
The rescue team and local residents had to:
Use ropes, pulleys, and harnesses to secure the elephant's body.
Stand on the slippery muddy bank, pulling it down little by little.
Calm the elephant while calculating to prevent further collapse.
