Most victims of narcissists and psychopaths stay in the relationship hoping the love bombing days would return. The problem is they never do. Once the narcissist shifts into devaluation mode, the good old days are over. However, the conditioning and brain washing was so strong, the narcissist victim can't help but to hope and dream. Even worse, is when the discarded victim realizes the narcissist is love bombing their new supply in even more incredible and thoughtful ways. Makes you wonder if the narcissist is actually happier now, especially since they NEVER treated you that good even during the initial narcissistic love bombing and grooming stage.
