Revolutionary forces ambushed a junta military column that entered Budalin town in Sagaing Region, resulting in about 20 junta soldiers killed and around 20 others injured. One vehicle mounted with a 0.5-caliber machine gun was destroyed, and weapons and ammunition were seized, according to a statement released by the Student Armed Force on January 20.

It was also reported that on December 27, 2025, approximately 150 junta troops from the Northwestern Regional Military Command (Monywa) set out toward Budalin town to reinforce forces for an election. During the advance, they were attacked with landmines by the Anonymous Hero group and the Chindwin Brother group, forcing them to retreat.
