[S1E1] TEACHING KIDS TO CODE: Learn to code games for beginners using Lua and Solar2D (CHANNEL LAUNCH INTRO)
This video is the first of many, and its purpose is to give you some background information on me (Angela McCall) and why it is, I'm launching a channel that is aimed at teaching kids (and newbie adults with no programming experience) how to code.

As a women who's interested in programming, I've always been in the minority.
Out of nearly 400 pupils on my degree, only 14 were women!

Now I've girls approaching the age, by which I've taught youngsters before in the past, I figured producing videos that teach kids to code, would be useful to them and others alike.

From experience, many online tutorials are taught my "stereotypical" programming type individuals. They know their thing and I only aspire to operate at their level, but to us mere mortals, they use complex words, concepts and expect you to have a mediocre understanding of the programming world. Even when they are aiming at beginners.

There is no way, most kids I know would watch their videos.

So wanting to help bridge the gap for women in tech, help my kids and niece/nephew learn these skills, and to keep my own hand-in, I've launched this channel out of passion and love.

So please do watch, I give a very quick behind the scene's look at a game I'm currently building, I mentioned famous games built in the Lua programming language and explain how this entire channel aims to use 100% open source and free online tools.
So there is absolutely nothing at all to pay for (well that is my sincere aim), thus helping kids of all backgrounds, so long as they can access a PC and the internet.
