At the Econometric Society/Bocconi University Virtual World Congress
Aug 17 - 21, 2020, a panel introduced the IFS Deaton Review, an ambitious five-year study of inequality supported The Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Nuffield Foundation.
Panelists:
Pinelopi Koujianou Goldberg (Chair) (Yale Economics Department and EGC)
Oriana Bandiera (London School of Economics)
Richard Blundell (UCL)
Jan Eeckout (UPF-GSE Barcelona)
Debra Satz (Stanford)
The IFS Deaton Review brings together the best available evidence from across the
social sciences to answer the big questions:
Which inequalities matter most?
How are different kinds of inequality related?
What are the underlying forces that come together to create
them?
What is the right mix of policies to tackle adverse inequalities?
The review is named for Angus Deaton of Princeton University, the chair of the panel.
