"I was so intrigued by this song ("We Will") and Sherman's voice that I sought out more songs and albums by him and got further and further into his music. Jake Sherman embodies that modern personal union of singer, composer, instrumentalist, lyricist, producer and sound engineer that has only been so possible in the last few years. He has both the harmonic background of a good jazz musician and the instinct of a pop musician to get to the heart of things. As a result, many of his masterpieces don't last more than a few minutes. I love his way of singing, an undramatic "telling", elegant, loose and captivating intonation. Some of his songs have made it to that playlist of mine that consists only of those pieces of music that never wear out, that you can listen to over and over again, and that always build the same magical atmosphere in me.

"Dieses Lied ("We Will") und die Stimme Shermans haben mich dermaßen fasziniert, so dass ich nach weiteren Liedern und Alben von ihm suchte und immer weiter in seine Musik eindrang. Jake Sherman verkörpert jene moderne Personalunion von Sänger, Komponist, Instrumentalist, Textschreiber, Produzent und Toningenieur, die erst seit wenigen Jahren so möglich ist. Er besitzt sowohl den harmonischen Background eines guten Jazzmusikers, als auch den Instinkt eines Popmusikers die Dinge auf den Punkt zu bringen. So dauern viele seiner Meisterwerke nicht länger als ein paar Minuten. Ich liebe seine Art zu singen, ein undramatisches „Erzählen“, elegant, locker und bestechend intoniert. Einige seiner Lieder haben es bei mir auf jene Playlist geschafft, die nur aus solchen Musikstücken besteht die sich nie abnützen, die man immer und immer wieder hören kann, und die immer dieselbe magische Atmosphäre in mir aufbauen.
