किडनी फेलियर में PTH का बढ़ना कितना खतरनाक | How PTH Levels Rise in Chronic Kidney Disease
Kidney patients often undergo multiple tests to keep track of their health, and one important test is the PTH test, which stands for Parathyroid Hormone. This test measures the level of PTH in your blood, which plays a key role in managing calcium and bone health. In this video, we’ll explore the essential functions of the kidneys and explain how to manage high PTH levels effectively to protect your bones and overall well-being.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀?
Your parathyroid glands (near the thyroid) release PTH, which helps control calcium and phosphorus levels in your body. When kidneys are not working well, they can’t balance calcium and phosphorus properly, which leads to high PTH levels. This condition is called Secondary Hyperparathyroidism, and it’s very common in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Our kidneys aren’t just filters—they quietly do a lot more for us every day. One of their special jobs is activating Vitamin D, which helps our body absorb calcium and keep our bones healthy and strong. When the kidneys are weak, this process slows down, and our bones can start to suffer. So, taking care of your kidneys also means protecting your strength from within.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 Vitamin D 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀?
In healthy people, the kidneys help activate Vitamin D that we naturally get from sunlight. But in kidney patients, this process doesn’t work properly. That’s why they can’t absorb calcium well—even if they’re getting enough sun or eating calcium-rich foods. To fix this, kidney patients often need the active form of Vitamin D and calcium, like Calcitriol or Calcium Acetate, which is already processed and ready for the body to use. But remember—this should only be taken under a doctor’s guidance.
