The application process to becoming a police officer is lengthy, and yeah yeah I get it this video is lengthy and tedious too I know, but this is great inform that you’ll need to be your best along the way. But in all honesty you must take the application process serious in order to get the anticapated response or to be selected for an interview at the very least, be truthful and honest in your application and present supporting facts and documents about yourself and experience to standout.
Once selected, you usually move forward from the application phase towards the oral board interview. The oral board interview is just a step into the process of becoming a law enforcement officer, however, how you do in the interview will more than likely determine if you'll be selected to move forward with your desired agency. Therefore, it is important to be prepared and ready to answer the tough questions that we rearly think about initially.
Now is the time to start thinking about the follwing questions and reviewing these questions the best you can with strong answers and with an informed approach to impress the board before your schedule interview.
These questions may not be exact in terms of what they'll ask but I gaurantee you they'll be close enough. Take them down practice as much as you can:
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself:
2. Why did you choose to become a police officer?
3. Why do you want to work at this agency?
4. What have you done to prepare yourself for this role?
5. What is your greatest weaknesses?
6. How would your current job help you with your job as a police officer?
7. Name a stressful situation on your job and what you did to overcome that stressful time:
8. How do you deal with stress in your life?
9. If you saw another officer committing a crime, what would you do?
10. If a superior officer told you to do something you knew was against regulations, what would you do?
11. If you had to arrest a family member, what would you do?
Once the the interview is over always ask a questions when given the opportunity:
Thank them
Ask them how does the agency ensure a team driven environment for their officers?
What are some important values that they look for in their rookie officers?
What is the potential for growth within their agency?
These are all just examples to help you! You're smart enough to come up with more of your own share them with me if you do in the comments and good luck!
