At a time when political division is giving rise to frequent street protests, it’s becoming commonplace for demonstrators (and even bystanders) to face pushback from law enforcement that can turn violent. What does the First Amendment say about the right to engage in peaceful protest? A timely conversation with author and constitutional scholar Gloria J.
