Where Was Zira In The Lion King? | Lion King Explained

Why wasn’t Zira in first Lion King movie? I mean, in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, Zira’s established to be a fanatical ally of Scar who dedicated her life to putting Scar’s chosen heir on the throne. But if she was so important in Scar’s life then how is it possible that she never appeared in The Lion King? I mean, wouldn't Zira have wanted to help kill Mufasa? Wouldn’t she have been willing to fight against Simba when he returned to Pride Rock? And wouldn’t she have done something when Scar was being eaten by the hyenas?! Why was Zira’s story ignored? This is how Zira's story fits into The Lion King.

I'm Isaac Carlson, a creator based in Orlando, Florida, and ever since I can remember I’ve loved Disney. My fondest childhood memories come from visiting Walt Disney World with my family. I grew up loving Spider-Man, Star Wars, Pixar, and the classic animated films from Disney.
