The Swapo Party secured seven constituencies out of the eight which form the Kavango West Region during the Regional Councils and Local Authority's elections.
The newly elected councillors were sworn in on Friday at Nkurenkuru.
Of the 8 constituencies, Ncuncuni was won by an Independent Candidate (IC), Michael Naiteta.
During the swearing-in ceremony, councillor of Nkurenkuru Constituency, Fillipus Tenga of the Swapo Party, was elected Chairperson of the Kavango West Regional Council.
In the previous council, Tenga served as a member of the management committee.
"I will not say what we are going to do in the next 5 years because the time is very short, but I am sure that time will come when I tell you exactly what's on the table, and then we will work together. What I want is for all the stakeholders to assist each other so that we can at least take the Kavango West region at a high level. We have done a lot, and we are still going to do a lot."
Re-elected councillor of Mpungu Constituency, Titus Shiudifonya, and newly elected councillor of Kapako Constituency, Augustinus Kupembona, were elected as members of the management committee.
Councillor of Mankumpi Constituency, Lukas Muha was re-elected as a member of the National Council.
Long-serving councillor Joseph Sivaku of Tondoro Constituency and newly elected councillor of Musese Constituency, Emma Veikko, were also elected as members of the National Council.
Meanwhile, councillor of Ncamagoro Constituency, Tomas Rengi, and Independent Councillor of Ncuncuni Constituency, Michael Naiteta, remain ordinary councillors.
Following the nomination of Nkurenkuru Local Authority councillors, Andreas Muhoka Katanga was sworn in as Mayor of Nkurenkuru Town Council, with Engerberth Makena Kaveto as Deputy Mayor.
"I commit myself to an open-door leadership, one that listens, engages and responds. Together we will continue to build a town that is safe, inclusive, economical, vibrant and environmentally sustainable. As we step into this new term, our focus will remain on improving service delivery, strengthening the local economy, strengthening local governance, promoting investment, enhancing infrastructure and supporting small and growing businesses. We will continue fostering partnerships with government, the private sector, and community organisations and accelerate development and create opportunities for our people."
Robert Mahina Katura, Agatha Kamba Muhepa, and Philipus Sepuka were nominated as members of the management committee, while Gabriel Muronga Tenga and Johannes Karambo Kavhura will serve as ordinary members.
The swearing-in ceremony was officiated by Magistrate George Matali.
