The Nagdhunga–Sisnekhola tunnel road is set to come into operation before Dashain.
Considering the heavy traffic during the festival, the Department of Roads has coordinated with the construction company to bring the tunnel into use ahead of time.

Currently in its final stage of preparation, the tunnel has completed the installation of lighting and painting works at the Sisnekhola and Balambu flyovers that connect the highway. The department has also announced that the tunnel road can be used free of charge during the festival period.

Earlier, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Kulman Ghising, had instructed that public passenger vehicles leaving Kathmandu during Dashain must use the Nagdhunga–Sisneri tunnel road. He gave this directive during a meeting held at Singha Durbar on Saturday with the Department of Transport Management, security agencies, transport entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.

The meeting also decided to direct the Department of Roads to operate a control room with designated contact persons to monitor road conditions nationwide around the clock, ensure necessary coordination, and manage traffic.

In addition, it was decided to request the Ministry of Home Affairs to deploy extra police personnel and intensify patrols on various highways, including the New Bus Park area, to strengthen security arrangements.
नागढुंगा–सिस्नेखोला सुरूङ मार्ग दसैंअघि नै सञ्चालनमा ल्याइने भएको छ। चाडपर्वमा हुने सवारी चाप हेरेर दसैंअघि नै सुरूङ मार्ग सञ्चालनमा ल्याउन सडक विभागले निर्माण कम्पनीसँग समन्वय गरेको छ। सञ्चालनको अन्तिम तयारीमा रहेको सुरूङ मार्ग, राजमार्ग जोड्ने सिस्ने खोला र बलम्बु फ्लाइओभरमा बत्ती जडान र रङरोगनको काम पूरा गरिसकेको छ। चाडपर्व सुरूङ मार्ग नि:शुल्क प्रयोग गर्न मिल्ने विभागले जनाएको छ। यसअघि भौतिक पूर्वाधार तथा यातायातमन्त्री कुलमान घिसिङले दसैं अवधिमा काठमाडौं बाहिर जाने यात्रुवाहक सार्वजनिक सवारी साधनलाई नागढुंगा-सिस्नेरी सुरूङ मार्ग प्रयोग गर्ने व्यवस्था मिलाउन निर्देशन दिएका थिए। शनिबार सिंहदरबारमा बसेको यातायात व्यवस्था विभाग, सुरक्षा निकाय, यातायात व्यवसायी लगायत सरोकारवाला निकायसँगको बैठकमा उनले उक्त निर्देशन दिएका हुन्। उक्त बैठकले देशभरका सडक अवस्थाबारे २४ घन्टा निगरानी, आवश्यक समन्वय र व्यवस्थापनका लागि सम्पर्क व्यक्तिसहित कन्ट्रोल रूम सञ्चालन गर्न पनि सडक विभागलाई निर्देशन दिने निर्णय गरेको छ। त्यस्तै, नयाँ बसपार्कसहित मुलुकका विभिन्न राजमार्गमा सुरक्षा चुस्त बनाउन प्रहरी गस्ती बढाउने र अतिरिक्त प्रहरी परिचालन गर्न गृह मन्त्रालयलाई अनुरोध गर्ने निर्णय भएको मन्त्री घिसिङले बताएका छन्।
