The last three levels of this super world.
My criticism: I was extremely frustrated by the first two levels and the experience was not enjoyable for me. The last level is excellent, with only one part I didn't like, where you have to control the clown thing, and it relies a bit on RNG. I think the third level gets one crucial element right: the challenge is in line with the characteristics of Mario Maker 2, which, let's be honest here, is not a game with good gameplay.
Let me explain: the first two levels use a very similar logic to that found in 2D shooters, whether it's side-scrolling stuff like Contra or shmups. The space on the screen is valuable, the enemies will advance and start taking away your space, and they'll have projectiles or attacks that you have to dodge. All this is fun, it's the kind of difficulty I like in games, but the problem: Mario Maker 2. Some characteristics of this game:
Input lag is very high
Mario has an insane inertia that prevents him from quickly changing the direction he's going in
hit boxes are pure garbage
When the player dies, he is severely penalized, unlike good action/shooter games where the player returns to the same point where he died without wasting time and having to wait for long transitions.
There are several other problems that make Mario Maker 2 total garbage, even compared to other Mario games (Mario World and Mario Wonder are two games with infinitely better gameplay). And when you combine all these features with levels whose difficulty requires quick reactions and decisions, and constant fighting for screen space, the result is frustration and anger. That's why the experience of the first two levels was so unpleasant for me.
The third level is completely different. It's still challenging, but in a completely different way, more based on rhythm, fluidity, and memorization. It's a bit frustrating, but unlike the first two levels, this one made me want to keep playing until I beat it, and I felt satisfied when I did.
In short, the third level takes advantage of the mechanics of Mario Maker 2, which is a game full of inertia, and makes the player always move without "fighting" the terrible controls of this damn game, lol.
