空母型フェリー、尾道市営渡船「こまたき」Aircraft carrier-type ferry, Onomichi Municipal Ferry "Komataki"

細島は人口27人。芸備群島の一つ、尾道から南西に約8kmに位置する小さな島。細島へは北西約1kmに位置する因島より、市営渡船「こまたき」に乗船して15分程で到着します。島内に飲食店やコンビニエンスストアはないため、住民は船で因島や尾道市内へと渡って買い物をします。
海や林に囲まれた自然豊かな土地で、柑橘類などの農作物も栽培されています。また、島には遺跡が2つ、古墳が2つ存在。古くは古墳時代中期のものであると推定されており、約1500年以上前の歴史を肌で感じることができます。細島と因島の海峡に満潮時にだけ姿を見せる海藻場「細の洲」は、「日本の重要湿地500」にも選出されています。
今回は空母型フェリーと呼ばれる独特な形のフェリーを撮影しました。時速10キロ位でした。

Hososhima has a population of 27 people. It is a small island located about 8km southwest of Onomichi, one of the Geibi Islands. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Hososhima by taking the municipal ferry "Komataki" from Innoshima, located about 1km northwest. There are no restaurants or convenience stores on the island, so residents take the boat to Innoshima or Onomichi to shop.
The island is surrounded by sea and forests and is rich in nature, and citrus fruits and other agricultural products are also grown there. There are also two ruins and two ancient tombs on the island. The oldest is estimated to be from the middle of the Kofun period, and you can feel the history of more than 1,500 years ago. "Hoso no Su," a seaweed bed that appears only at high tide in the strait between Hososhima and Innoshima, has been selected as one of "Japan's 500 Important Wetlands."
This time, I photographed a uniquely shaped ferry called an aircraft carrier ferry. It was traveling at about 10 km/h.
